Vince Gilligan outdid himself here — the perfect successor to the perfect series, Breaking Bad. Bob Odenkirk's performance is bang on, and the character arc from Chuck's validation-seeking younger brother to a full-blown "criminal" lawyer is layered beautifully. The cherry on top, of course, is Tony Dalton as Lalo Salamanca.
Al Pacino's charm should be its own tier — that's reason enough to watch this. The story itself wasn't bad, but what really carried the film was the sheer acting talent on display: Pacino, Keanu Reeves, and a mind-blowing performance from Charlize Theron.
Haven't experienced anything quite like this before. Javier Bardem was terrifying to watch, and Josh Brolin nailed the rugged lone wolf energy. I was expecting a more gasping, dramatic ending than what I actually got.
